Building a stretchy, shifting identity for Splice to unpack the creative process.
About the project
We worked with Splice, to design the identity and animation system for their Unpacked video series. In Unpacked, influential artists explore the methods, minutiae, and magic behind their most definitive sounds.
After much iteration, we landed in a cool place–with a typographic design system that stretches and expands–pushing letterforms apart, and pulling them together again. We also play with positive and negative space, having video knock through darkness, and then being obscured again. Wow, that sort of parallels the creative process of writing music. Cool.
